Asthma Canada is excited to share that we’re launching an important new national disease education initiative called Break Over-reliance.

This new initiative aims to disrupt deeply rooted behaviours related to asthma treatment by raising awareness of the risks of short-acting beta-agonist (SABA) over-reliance.

Viewers are encouraged to take the digital Reliever Reliance Test (www.rateyourreliance.ca) to assess their level of risk. Depending on their results, they may be prompted to have a conversation with their healthcare providers (HCPs) about their test results and alternative treatment options.

Over the next few months, you may see social media ads and videos about this disease education initiative on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. To further expand our reach, a video, which encourages patients to take the Reliever Reliance test, will be featured on the Yonge Dundas Square digital billboards beginning September 14.

Asthma Canada is committed to improve asthma care in Canada by breaking SABA over-reliance and stopping preventable asthma attacks. For more information about this initiative, visit www.rateyourreliance.ca
